Introduction:
The department of Biochemistry at AIIMS, Raebareli was started on 26-July-2018. This department is associated with various academic activities, teaching, training of students, diagnostic services for patient care and high quality biomedical research by the faculty and students. Initially, a common laboratory was attached with the department running a number of diagnostic investigations for OPD patients.
OPD Diagnostic Services :
Currently, department is equipped with Fully Automated Biochemistry Analyzer machine and other instruments for running a number of clinical biochemistry investigations e.g. Blood Sugar, Liver Function Tests (LFT), Kidney Function Tests (KFT), Lipid profile, Electrolyte profile, Urine analysis etc.
Future Plan :
Installation of quality lab instruments and upgradation of diagnostic and research facilities at AIIMS, Raebareli is anticipated in due course such as-
- Molecular and Cell Biology Laboratory
- Immunochemistry Laboratory
- In vitro culture facility
- Genomic and Proteomic Laboratory
This department is intended to establish an interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment with a number of renowned International and National medical and research institutes to develop novel drug targets, investigations and therapeutic applications for public welfare in India.
Qualified students interested in ongoing research projects and training in this department are invited for various PhD and postdoctoral research activities.
