All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh was approved in February, 2009 under Phase-II of Pradhan Mantri Sawasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) at an approved cost of Rs. 823 crore. The State Government had agreed to provide 148 acres of land. A Gazette Notification was issued on 13th August, 2013 for establishment of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences at Raebareli. The Government of Uttar Pradesh transferred land measuring 97 acres out of already agreed 148 acres to the Central Government in July, 2013 for establishment of AIIMS Raebareli. The remaining 51 acres of land in under acquisition by the State Government and is expected to be provided in due course.
